On Friday May 14th we were delighted to host a live conversation with mindful parenting coach and doula Mary Esther Malloy, M.A..

Mary Esther joined us for a rich conversation about parenting, embodiment, childbirth, mindfulness and more with studio BE faculty member Jessica Zambri.

In case you missed it, you can watch the whole conversation here:

Mary Esther Malloy, M.A., offers families an expansive, holistic approach to childbirth preparation, labor support and parenting.

Over 2000 families have participated in Mindful Birth childbirth classes with Mary Esther and she has attended over 600 births as a doula in NYC. She has run parent groups for over a thousand families since founding Mindful Birth NY in 2004.

The mother of three children, Mary Esther publishes regularly about birth and parenting. She believes that mindfulness is more than relaxation, and that we can use a focused mind, calm body and open heart as springboards to greater insight into how we might live, labor, and parent with presence.

Since 2007, Mary Esther has served on Choices in Childbirth’s education committee where she has facilitated the following events for expectant New Yorkers: Men and Birth, Choosing your Care Provider, Breastfeeding, How to Have a Great Hospital Birth, Choosing Homebirth, Working with Risk, Inspiring Birth Stories, and VBAC and Cesarean, among others.

You can find her articles in Midwifery Today, the Journal of Perinatal Education, The Journal of Perinatal Psychology, and Pathways to Family Wellness, as well as on many blogs.

Thanks for joining us, Mary Esther! We loved learning from you.
