On Friday January 22nd we were delighted to host a live conversation with Yoga 4 Change founder Kathryn Thomas.

Kathryn joined us for a meaningful conversation about yoga, service, mindfulness, mental health and more with studio BE faculty member Jyothi Behne.

In case you missed it, you can watch the whole conversation here:

Kathryn Thomas is the founder and Executive Director of Yoga 4 Change, and sits on the management team of ANAMAR Environmental Consulting.

Prior to joining two diverse organizations, Kathryn served in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator. After suffering a disabling injury while on deployment, Kathryn found herself no longer flying helicopters, dealing with multiple levels of pain, and eventually medically separated from the United States Navy.

While her husband was on deployment, she began studying to become a Yoga teacher through the Yoga School of Kailua, where she was first exposed to teaching inside a correctional institution. Upon moving to Jacksonville, Florida, she witnessed the need for mental, emotional, and physical healing in her new community and started Yoga 4 Change to fill this void.

Kathryn has training across multiple yoga disciplines including Power Yoga, Chair Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Prison Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. As the current Executive Director of Yoga 4 Change, Kathryn leads the organization’s expansion across the state of Florida, oversees daily business operations, and teaches for the organization from time to time.

In her role on the management team of ANAMAR, Kathryn focuses on the business development and marketing of the company. She joined the ANAMAR team late in 2017, and is excited to expand the company’s reach to the Pacific Northwest in the coming year.

Kathryn resides in Florida with her husband, daughter and their wonderful dogs.
